While interoperability requirements in the IoT industry have not yet evolved sufficiently to demand ‘standards based’ and ‘open source,’ an assortment of industries and use cases that comprise IoT are broadly embracing scalable edge computing as a key execution venue. The same tools that Red Hat has created for orchestrating and automating containers and applications in the IT realm are well positioned to serve the needs of large-scale edge device deployment, in IoT or in general IT contexts.
